Dalarna is famous for cross country ski tracks, especially in the snow-filled forests around Grönklitt or along the Vasalopps route. Long-distance skating on for example the Lake Orsa ice is very popular in Dalarna and there are prepared skating trails on the lake Orsa and elsewhere.
